Guys Night was a huge success (over 40 guys for the last one), but the ladies were feeling left out. So we brought Ladies Night back for round two and this time we're taking your pallets to Spain! Ladies grab a friend and a bottle of wine and come join us for a little R&R away from the daily grind in your own backyard. Just like Guys Night we will put all the wine on the table so you can sample other guest's favorites, then enjoy the casual cooking demo by Chef Paul and pick up some new ideas for your next party. After the demo shop till your heart's content in this private atmosphere and take all the time you need talking to Dominic about any culinary questions you have. Sangria and tapas recipes will be featured. Marinated grilled shrimp with fresh pineapple lime dipping sauce and tri-pepper melody bruchetta will have you dreaming of Barcelona in the Fall... HOW DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?

Class Description:
Breaded, of course!Everything you have ever wanted to know about chicken. Boneless, bone-in, skin-on, skinless, whole, cut up, etc. Chef Paul will share the secrets to trussing a chicken, cutting whole chicken, seasoning, perfect roast chicken, and more. Paul will also demo an easy recipe for breaded lemon chicken with capers and parsley. You don't want to miss out!

"Food is Health",  the father of modern medicine said that hundreds of years ago. Organic farmers Dela and Tony Ends have made a commitment to it in their business at Scotch Hill Farm in southern Wisconsin for 16 years. They'll share writings from researchers and doctors on how the foods you eat and cook can prevent or cause heart disease, cancer, even conditions of mental acuity into your old age. And they'll relate this to the foods they grow and sell in subscriptions by certified organic practices and Community Supported Agriculture. TEEN COOKING CLASS

Class Description:
Chef Paul will go through the basics of how to prepare a chicken breast for quesadillas - how to cut, season, cook it, etc. It's versatile and can be added to quesadillas, eaten alone, or added to salads! He'll also teach your teens to make the best Mac & Cheese in town - no box mix here! Wouldn't it be great if they could make their own healthier snacks rather than reach into the freezer for those frozen fake foods? I can only imagine!

HOMEMADE PIZZA

There are many great ways to make a pizza at home that taste better than many of your favorite pizza joints. Join the Chef in learning how to be creative in your recipes and in your cooking. Yes, its that time again...I told you guys you will want to give your ladies their night out so you can come to this!  Our last Guys Night was even bigger than the first with the same response...when is the next one? Whether you want to see the Green Egg in Action, eat some good food or just hang out for a few beers don't be sorry you missed this again. Here's the deal: Grab a few of your buddies & your favorite 6-pack (we pool all the beer together so everyone can sample and discuss) and come on in! Dominic is going to fire up the Big Green Egg Grill & Smoker and prepare a smoked sausage  for all to taste. You'll be able to ask all the questions you've ever had about the Egg and enjoy friends, good beer and great food. So come hang by the grill with store owner Dominic Cimilluca for this fun night!

Anyone who wants to make a meal needs to know the basics of working around their kitchen. SUSTAINING THE EARTH

Class Description:
We hear a lot about "sustainability." Mostly, what people tell us concerns what is not sustainable, what is ruining the Earth, endangering health and safety, eroding food security and negatively changing climate. At Scotch Hill Farm, Tony and Dela Ends, have worked for 16 years to become a self-sustaining farm. From their experiences and studies, they'll share a positive formula for sustainability that they believe can help us regain control of our health from the economy to the kitchen. SAUCES: ARE YOU MY MOTHER?
Did you know that there are 5 basic sauces considered to be the "Mother Sauces" among the cooking community.  From these sauces many other sauces can be created. It's all here for you in a 2-class block. (you do not need to take both classes, but you will learn a lot more if you do)

MEET THE CHEFS

Chef Paul Messina is a graduate of the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. Chef Paul is 100% Sicilian and specializes in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. He has been teaching in and around the Chicago area for the last 5 years and has worked extensively as a caterer, and personal executive chef. He has worked with a number of large corporations, was chosen as one of the corporate chefs for the US Open and was a personal chef to the Pritzker family. His classes emphasize classic techniques and methods critical for any successful home chef. Chef Pauls passion, enthusiasm and humor make his classes an enjoyable and entertaining experience. He is in the process of creating his first cookbook.

 

Chef Matt Zagorski is an award-winning chef and 2009 National Pie Champion. He has been teaching culinary classes around the Chicago area for the last 6 years and has worked extensively as a caterer and personal chef. He has conducted classes and events for many large corporations including Discover Card, Pampered Chef and Condell Hospitals. His stories, cooking philosophies and recipes have been featured in numerous newspaper articles around the US. Among his television appearances, Chef Matt was a featured chef on the Food Networks successful Food Network Challenge series (September 2008). Chef Matt is known for his sense of humor, easily duplicated recipes and his ability to make the even most complicated culinary techniques accessible to the home chef. His warmth, enthusiasm and high energy always make his classes a memorable and exciting event. Chef Matt is a graduate of Kendall College.


Chef Vee Buranasiri is a graduate of Kendall College Culinary School.  Chef Vee has worked in the food  and wine industry for almost 20 years.  In the early years of his career he worked in restaurants, hotels and catering businesses.  Currently a personal chef working for 5 families in the Chicago land area, Chef Vee also works part time as wine buyer and chef for a small wine market called Cellar Gate in Highwood.


ABOUT OUR CLASSES


Recipes and Food Tastings: All classes include food samples and recipe packs, unless otherwise indicated. Menu items are subject to change due to the availability of ingredients.


Registration and Waivers: You can sign up for a class by telephone or in-person at our store but due to enrollment limitations, we cannot hold a place for you in a class without payment. Since most of our classes are hands-on and most will require the use of knives, hot ovens and other potentially dangerous equipment, all class attendees are required to sign a waiver. No exceptions.


Cancellations Policy: If you are unable to attend a class, you must notify us at least 1 week in advance to receive a full refund. After that time, no refunds will be given. No exceptions. If you cannot attend a class you have paid for, you may send someone else in your place " just give us a call ahead of time. At the discretion of Dominics Kitchen Store, classes may be canceled or rescheduled due to inclement weather or the illness of the instructor. In these instances, you will be given the option to attend the rescheduled class, apply your fee to another class, or receive a full refund. A class may be canceled due to lack of enrollment. In this case, you will be notified in advance and given the option of applying your fee to another class or receiving a full refund.
